Job Purpose
Collateral Manager will be primarily responsible for the oversight & management of the valuation process of various types of properties undertaken as collateral securities, e.g. residential, commercial, industrial, etc. for two credit program portfolios under IBG 4- Credit Program (Small) and Credit Program (Medium) and for other programs in IBG 3 & 4 as necessary.
Key Accounatbilities and Requirements
• Adopt a agile risk management approach to pro-actively monitor the collateral valuation trends for various types of properties in different locations where DBS has taken / proposes to take properties as security.
• Keep a track of concentrations in type of collateral security or geography and highlight in case of any adverse changes in property rates in that area for corrective action
• Scrutinise valuation reports on a sample basis and check for appropriateness of valuation being provided by empanelled valuers.




• Manage day to day valuation related issues and provide technical support for decision on exceptions / deviations pointed out by empanelled valuer by factoring in nuances and working with key stakeholders to ensure robust risk management of the collateral valuation related issues.
• Review profile of valuers and provide necessary recommendations for empanelment.

Job Duties & responsibilities
• To have a sound knowledge of the valuation process and trends in terms of risks associated with various types of properties, geographies and products.
• To have a working knowledge of the general Legal / regulatory framework in which the bank operates in India and apply the same.
• To apply knowledge of RBI Regulations/ MAS Guidelines that govern collateral valuations, including the Loan Grading, Provisioning and Asset Classification regulations and to update Local credit / Lending Policies as applicable.
