Role Title:Product Designer

Position Summary:

The Product Designer, helps the team to support a vision for how experiences should be designed across Marriott.com Hotel Websites. The ideal candidate brings user experience and visual design skills, obsesses about the details, has experience working closely with engineers, and can implement at mass scale. This associate will be a proactive problem solver with a keen focus on data-driven product design.

Reporting to the Director of UX and Design, this associate will be a designer skilled at working with digital product teams, supporting production design work, specing files, creating prototypes, and pressure testing designs against real world scenarios.





A strong portfolio is critical for this role. Your portfolio should showcase experience in UX and visual design, particularly where simplicity and ease-of-use were a major concern.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Education and Experience:

- 2+ years of experience as a UX, experience designer or a similar role
- 2-year degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in design or technology discipline or equivalent combined experience
- Experience in multiple of the following user experience disciplines: interaction design, visual design, motion/animation
- Experience in solving problems, thinking logically and analyzing complex use cases
- Ability to solve problems quickly, think creatively, and drive speed-to-market delivery, while optimizing outcomes
- Strong grounding in general usability and transactional design best practices
- Experience working with a multi-brand design systems and using variables/tokenization
- Robust grounding in the atomic design framework
- Effective written and oral communications skills
- Experience with major, large-scale global digital apps,



web sites, or other digital products within the commerce or travel space preferred

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES;

Demonstrating and Applying Discipline Knowledge:

- Produces sketches, wireframes, journey maps, flows, designs, motion specs, Figma prototypes and/or presentations as needed to communicate experience design
- Produces development-ready designs with specifications
- Ensure quality experience on live digital products by participating in the user acceptance testing process
- Uses software including: Figma;AEM Storybook (or equivalent) Nice to Have; Adobe Creative Suite; Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- References Design System for appropriate patterns, components, and styles in the course of user experience design work
- Keeps skills up to date on industry trends and apply new knowledge to job
- Understands web technologies and principles like responsive design, front-end markup and libraries such as HTML, CSS

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies:

- Provides accurate estimates as to needed time to complete work to feed project plans (and therefore personal deadlines)
- Meets deadlines once agreed upon
- Reports impediments to completing work and meeting deadlines
- Provides regular status updates to manager
- Successfully manages multiple assignments at once
- Works based on priorities and requests clarification if priorities are not clear
- Accepts critique and critiques work of others in a helpful and professional manner
- Communicates in a timely and appropriate manner with teammates

Education and Certifications:

- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience/certification
