AS/400 DEVELOPER / AS400 TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced AS/400 Developer with 6+ years of hands-on experience in IBM iSeries / AS400 application development, maintenance, and support.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in RPG programming, DB2/400, CL programming, and system support. The candidate will work closely with business users, analysts, and technical teams to develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop, maintain, and support applications on the IBM AS/400 (iSeries) platform.
- Work on RPGLE, CLLE, SQLRPGLE, COBOL/400, and DB2/400 programming.
- Analyze business requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Perform code enhancements, debugging, testing, and production support.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and processes.
- Work on batch job scheduling, job monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot system/application issues and provide timely resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for application integration and deployment.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.




- Support migration, modernization, and system upgrade activities when required.

REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong experience in AS/400 / IBM iSeries development.
- Expertise in RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE, Free Format RPG, CL/CLLE.
- Positive knowledge of DB2/400, SQL, and Query/400.
- Experience in debugging and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of batch processing and job scheduling.
- Familiarity with source control and change management tools.
- Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience with API integration and web services on AS/400.
- Exposure to modernization projects and IBM upgrades.
- Knowledge of Aldon, Turnover, or other change management tools.
- Experience in manufacturing, logistics, finance, or retail domains is an added advantage.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in AS/400 / IBM iSeries technologies.

NOTICE PERIOD
- Immediate joiners or candidates with shorter notice periods are preferred.
