Job Description – Manager – Finance & Accounts
Client: Risland India
Position: Manager – Finance & Accounts
Location: Thane, Maharashtra
Reporting To: Head of Finance / CFO
Experience: 5+ years of post-qualification experience (Post CA)
Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory
Work Timings: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Working Days: Monday to Friday (5 days working)
Interview Process: 2 Rounds – HR → CFO

Position Overview
Risland India is looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant with 5+ years of post-qualification experience to join its Finance & Accounts team as Manager – Finance & Accounts.
The role will be responsible for accounting governance, financial closing, statutory and internal audits, direct and indirect taxation, GST compliances, tax litigation and notices, and coordination with external consultants and auditors.
The position will work closely with the CFO and will be part of a Finance team of approximately 4–5 members.
Key Responsibilities1. Taxation, Litigation & Notice Management
- Handle tax notices and proceedings relating to Income Tax, GST and legacy Service Tax matters.
- Prepare and review responses to tax notices, assessments and scrutiny proceedings.
- Coordinate with external tax consultants, legal advisors and auditors for tax-related matters.
- Assist in handling tax litigation, appeals, assessments and disputes.
- Track ongoing tax proceedings and ensure timely responses and compliance.
- Identify potential tax risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
2. Direct & Indirect Taxation
- Manage end-to-end Direct and Indirect Tax compliances.
- Oversee GST return filing, GST reconciliation and related compliances.
- Manage Income Tax-related compliances, including TDS payments and filings.
- Coordinate with tax consultants to ensure timely and accurate statutory filings.
- Review tax positions and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
3. Accounting & Financial Management
- Oversee monthly and annual financial closing activities.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
- Monitor project accounting, project costs and revenue recognition.
- Ensure compliance with Ind AS, GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Review financial data and identify accounting discrepancies or potential risks.
- Support management with financial analysis and accounting-related decision-making.
4. Statutory, Internal & Tax Audits
- Lead and coordinate Statutory, Internal and Tax Audits.
- Liaise with statutory auditors, internal auditors and external consultants.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.
- Prepare financial statements and audit-related reports in compliance with the Companies Act.
- Prepare audit summaries and presentations for senior management and the CFO.
5. Risk Management & Management Reporting
- Conduct risk assessments relating to taxation,
audits, accounting and financial matters.
- Highlight potential financial, accounting and tax risks to senior management.
- Recommend practical solutions and mitigation strategies.
- Provide regular updates to the CFO on taxation, litigation, audits and compliance matters.
- Support senior management with financial and tax-related analysis as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI – Mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Candidates with 5–8 years PQE may be considered, subject to relevant experience.
- Experience in Real Estate, Manufacturing, Infrastructure, Construction or Consulting is preferred.
- Candidates from Big 4 / reputed CA firms such as PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, or established CA firms may also be considered.
- Strong hands-on experience in Direct & Indirect Taxation, GST and Tax Litigation is mandatory.
- Positive understanding of Income Tax, GST, TDS, Ind AS and Companies Act.
- Proven experience in handling tax notices, scrutiny, assessments, appeals and litigation.
- Experience in managing statutory, internal and tax audits.
- Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Tally or similar accounting/real-estate ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and risk-assessment skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, legal advisors and senior management.
