GTM Engineer Intern | AI & Growth
Location: Mumbai
Internship Period: 4 Months
About U.Labs
U.Labs is a Mumbai-based venture studio that builds, scales, and invests in the next generation of businesses. We operate as strategic co-builders, combining business strategy, technology, AI, brand, and growth to help founders and companies move from idea to execution at speed.
You will immediately work on StackBack.ai, our SaaS product for D2C and ecommerce brands, and shortly thereafter across other AI, SaaS and enterprise products and platforms being built at U.Labs.
We think like founders, build like engineers, and grow like marketers.
About the Role
This role is for someone who is studying engineering, or has recently graduated as an engineer, and loves building things but does not want to build technology in isolation from the business.
You want to know whether what you built generated leads, improved conversion, created pipeline, reduced acquisition costs, or helped a product grow.
A GTM Engineer sits at the intersection of engineering, AI, data, sales and growth.
This is not a traditional analyst or marketing internship.
It is not an SDR role.
And it is not a conventional software engineering internship where you spend four months picking up frontend or backend tickets without understanding what they ultimately change for the business.
You will work directly with the CEO to identify growth problems, test ways to solve them, build what is required, run experiments, understand what works, and then systemise and scale it.
You could be working on problems like:
- How do we automatically find and prioritise the right companies for StackBack?
- How do we build outbound that is personalised and scalable without becoming spam?
- How do we get more high-intent customers to discover us through inbound channels?
- What landing pages, journeys and conversion flows should we build for different ICPs and use cases?
- Where are prospects dropping off, and what can we change to improve conversion?
- How do we use AI, data and automation to make our GTM engine significantly more effective?
Your job is to take a commercial problem and figure out how technology can help solve it.
What You’ll Do
GTM Acquisition
- Build systems to identify, research, enrich and prioritise companies and decision-makers

- Explore and test new inbound acquisition opportunities across search, content and other channels
- Continuously improve targeting, messaging and acquisition workflows based on results
Research & Product Discovery
- Conduct deep research across markets, industries, products, competitors and emerging technologies
- Identify customer pain points, unmet needs and behavioural patterns that can inform new product ideas and GTM opportunities
- Research new product categories, use cases and market opportunities before we decide what to build
- Turn fragmented information from customers, competitors, communities and market data into clear insights and actionable recommendations
GTM Infrastructure, AI & Automation
- Connect CRM, enrichment, outbound, analytics, databases and other parts of the GTM stack
- Build workflows using APIs, webhooks, agents and automation systems
- Build AI agents and workflows for research, enrichment, qualification and personalisation
- Work with Python, JavaScript, SQL and other tools where required
- Build scrapers, data pipelines and lightweight internal tools
- Build and iterate landing pages, lead capture flows and conversion journeys
- Set up tracking, analytics and attribution across acquisition funnels
- Work with outbound infrastructure including domains, inboxes and email deliverability
- Prototype and ship quickly using AI-assisted development tools
Experiments & Analytics
- Track acquisition funnels from first touch to lead, meeting, prospect and revenue
- Build dashboards and reporting around GTM performance
- Analyse which ICPs, channels, signals, messages and landing pages perform best
- Identify bottlenecks across the funnel
- Design and run growth experiments
- Use performance data to decide what to improve, scale or stop
Who You Are
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in engineering, computer science or another technical discipline
- You enjoy building things and care about the business outcome they create
- Curious about how companies acquire customers and grow
- Strong at researching unfamiliar topics and turning large amounts of information into clear conclusions
- Comfortable with APIs, webhooks, JSON and connecting different software systems
- Comfortable working with Python, JavaScript, SQL or similar technical tools
- Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, databases and APIs
- Extremely comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or Gemini
- Comfortable with ambiguity and figuring things out without a detailed playbook
- Fast learner with a strong bias towards shipping
Most importantly, you build things.
Show us something you’ve built.
It could be an AI agent, MCP integration, scraper, Chrome extension, internal tool, side project, website, data pipeline, app, automation, or simply something weird you built because you wanted to see if you could.
We care considerably more about evidence that you can build and think than your CGPA or previous job titles.

One Last Thing
GTM Engineer is still a relatively new role.
You may never have applied for one before. You may not currently call yourself one.
That’s fine.
If you are an engineer who enjoys building, but does not want to build in isolation from the business, and the idea of using technology to directly influence growth and revenue excites you, we want to meet you.
