Analyze complex HLASM programs, macros, control blocks and call chains
Understand and document business logic embedded in legacy assembler code
Rewrite assembler programs into maintainable, functionally equivalent COBOL
Translate low-level assembler constructs, register operations and data handling into COBOL
Design and execute unit/integration testing for modernization programs
Debug functional mismatches and resolve defects
Optimize CPU, I/O, storage and performance-critical code paths
Create transparent technical and functional documentation
Collaborate with architects, testers, modernization and QA teams
Ideal Candidate:
We’re looking for someone who can go beyond syntactic code conversion and truly understand assembler behavior, business rules and functional equivalence.
Experience in Mainframe modernization / migration programs and automated rewrite or code-mining tools will be an added advantage.
