About the job

Outback makes full-grain leather bags, briefcases and wallets by hand in Recent Delhi. Everything is made to order. We sell only through our own two stores, outback.life in India and outback.world internationally. Over 25,000 people have bought from us. You will be the voice of Outback to every customer who writes, calls or messages us, and you will turn the serious enquiries into orders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Answer every customer email in Freshdesk the same working day, for both the India and the international store. Around 60 to 90 real conversations a month.
2. Handle Instagram DMs and WhatsApp enquiries to the same standard and in the same voice.
3. Own the corporate gifting pipeline end to end: reply to every enquiry the day it lands, qualify it, build the quote, coordinate branding and samples with our manufacturing partner, chase the purchase order and keep the client informed until it is delivered.
4. Collect reviews and photographs from customers after delivery, and run follow-up outreach so people who bought once come back for the second piece.
5. Keep the helpdesk clean and send one short report every Friday on what customers actually asked about that week.
6. Use the Shopify order panel to check facts before you reply. Never ask a customer for something we already know.

Other requirements

1. Graduates in any discipline. We care about how you speak and write, not what you studied.

2. 1 to 3 years answering customers in writing, ideally in a direct-to-consumer or ecommerce brand.

3. Experience with a helpdesk tool such as Freshdesk, Zendesk, Gorgias or Zoho Desk.

4. Comfortable on the phone in both Hindi and English.

5. Able to work from our Patparganj office, five and a half days a week.
