? We're hiring: Technical Game Designer (Unreal Engine 5) | Remote, India
We're a small, self-funded indie startup building a story-driven, linear third-person shooter in Unreal Engine 5. Our first milestone is a playable vertical slice and a trailer in the next 3–4 months, and we're looking for someone to design and build the core gameplay with us.
What you'll do:
? Build third-person shooting and cover mechanics
? Create enemy AI that takes cover, flanks and pushes the player
? Set up drivable vehicles and chase sequences
? Script missions and gray-box levels
? Playtest and tune combat until it feels great
What we're looking for:
✅ Solid Unreal Engine 5 Blueprint skills (C++ is a bonus)
✅ A portfolio of playable prototypes or gameplay systems you built yourself
✅ Comfortable both designing systems and implementing them
✅ Shipped titles are a bonus, not a requirement
The details:
? ₹20,000–30,000/month
? Full time remote contract (India), paid monthly against your invoice. This is a contract role, so there's no PF or other employee benefits
? ~8 hours/day, with 4 shared core hours when the team is online together; the rest is flexible
? Your own PC or laptop that can run UE5, plus a stable internet connection
? Initial 3-month contract, with extension if it's a good fit
As an early-stage indie startup, our budget is modest and the pay reflects that. In return, you'll get real ownership of the game's core systems, flexible hours, game credits, and portfolio rights once the project is public.
