About the RoleWe are looking for an L1 NOC Engineer to join our Managed Network Operations team supporting an Australian ISP network.
You will be responsible for 24/7 network monitoring, alert triage, incident management, first-line troubleshooting and escalation across a multi-vendor ISP environment.
The role is ideal for engineers with ISP/WISP or NOC experience, particularly those with hands-on exposure to MikroTik, Ubiquiti and wireless networking.
Key Responsibilities• Monitor network infrastructure, alerts and services through the customer's NOC platform.
• Perform alert triage, incident classification and impact assessment.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, interfaces, wireless links and customer services.
• Handle L1 incidents through resolution or appropriate escalation.
• Support troubleshooting of OSPF, BGP/iBGP, MPLS/VPLS and PPPoE issues.
• Monitor and troubleshoot MikroTik,



Ubiquiti and other network devices.
• Use network topology, telemetry and diagnostic tools to identify likely causes.
• Escalate complex issues to L2 Network Engineering with clear diagnostic information.
• Coordinate with customer field engineers when physical intervention is required.
• Maintain accurate incident records, technical notes and shift handovers.
• Follow agreed SLAs, runbooks and escalation procedures.
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to NOC process improvements.

Required SkillsEssential:
• 2–4 years of experience in a NOC, ISP or WISP setting.
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs and subnetting.
• Practical experience with network monitoring and incident management.
• Good understanding of OSPF and BGP.
• Experience troubleshooting routers, switches and network connectivity.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
