PURPOSE: To ensure
● 100% Direct & Indirect, Customs. Payroll Tax Compliance
● Completion of tax assessments of Whirlpool (Assessments /TP/TDS/CbC) without adverse results
● Efficiently handling of current ongoing litigation in progress at various appellate levels
● Minimization of overall direct tax liability of the Company by appropriate application of the Direct Tax Laws and Regulation
● Indirect tax matters (VAT, GST, Custom etc.) such as current business initiatives, M&A;, contract reviews, legislative analysis, implementation of tax technology and general technical indirect tax questions across the region
● Review existing tax position, finding the area of development and ensuring tax optimizations
● Advising business on new project for tax optimization with detailed SOP"s to be followed by the operational teams Preventive steps to avoid and tax exposure and litigation

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Handling of direct tax assessments, re-assessments, and appellate proceedings as representative of the company for India tax.
● Ensure statutory compliances,



tax planning and strategies aligned with overall business strategies, integrate entities, manage litigation risk, team management, lead digital/automation projects
● Working with Appellate Authorities
● Ensure compliance and consistent GST positions across locations, identify tax saving options, functional role in IT projects relating to GST and standardize procedures for smooth functioning of business processes.
● Replies to the queries in the Income Tax and Transfer Pricing assessment proceedings and ensuring accurate filling of the replies and information to the compliance and satisfaction of the Assessing Officers, Transfer Pricing Officers, TDS Officers and proving face to face interaction/ explanation, clarification of documents and written submissions to tax authorities, to avoid disallowances of our claims to high pitched assessments and future tax litigations.
