About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Cardiac Tissue Engineering & 3D Bioprinting Researcher to lead the development of engineered cardiac tissue constructs using biomaterials, tissue engineering, and advanced 3D biofabrication.
You will be responsible for translating iPSC-derived cardiac cells into structured, functional 3D cardiac tissue constructs. The role spans biomaterial and bioink development, cell–material interactions, 3D bioprinting, tissue organization, maturation, and long-term construct performance.




The successful candidate will take tissue constructs from biological and engineering concepts through material selection, bioink development, fabrication, optimization, characterization, and functional validation. This work will be carried out in collaboration with CenFab at Vellore Institute of Technology-Vellore.

What You Will Do• Design and develop 3D engineered cardiac tissue constructs using iPSC-derived cardiac cells.
• Develop and optimize biomaterial and hydrogel systems for cardiac tissue engineering.
• Formulate and characterize cell-compatible bioinks suitable for cardiac tissue fabrication.
• Evaluate bioink rheology, viscosity, gelation, printability, mechanical properties, and cell compatibility.
• Develop and optimize extrusion-based and other relevant 3D bioprinting strategies.
• Optimize printing parameters including extrusion pressure, nozzle geometry, printing speed, resolution, deposition pattern, and cell density.
