Role Description The Steward role at Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh is a full-time, on-site position based in Kanpur. The steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in dining areas, serving food and beverages, and ensuring that service standards are consistently met. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and clearing tables, assisting with food service during events and regular meal hours, and providing courteous support to students, staff, and visitors.



The steward will work closely with the food service and hospitality teams, follow hygiene and safety protocols, and support training and coordination activities as needed.
Qualifications

• Strong Customer Service and Communication skills to interact professionally with students, staff, and guests.
• Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations and Food Service practices, including basic serving and handling procedures.
• Ability to support and participate in Training related to hospitality standards, hygiene, and safety.
• Attention to cleanliness, organization, and time management in a fast-paced campus environment.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Prior experience in hospitality, cafeteria, or institutional food service is an advantage.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or events, as required.
