Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and technically accomplished Technical Director to technically lead our Geotechnics & Tunnelling capability. The role will provide technical leadership across major infrastructure projects, oversee the delivery of complex geotechnical and tunnelling assignments, mentor technical teams, and contribute to the strategic growth of the business.

The successful candidate will be recognised as a trusted technical authority, capable of influencing project outcomes, developing technical excellence within the team, and strengthening client relationships across the UK, Middle East, and global markets.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Act as a Technical Director and Subject Matter Expert for geotechnical and tunnelling projects.
• Provide technical oversight and assurance on complex geotechnical designs, assessments, reports, and technical deliverables.
• Lead the technical delivery of major infrastructure projects, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance with industry standards.




• Review and authorise high-value and high-risk technical outputs.
• Drive technical excellence, innovation, and best practice across the geotechnical and tunnelling disciplines.
• Develop and implement technical standards, procedures, and design guidance.

Project Delivery

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams in the delivery of complex geotechnical and tunnelling projects.
• Support project directors and project managers in managing technical risks, programme delivery, and commercial performance.
• Provide strategic advice to clients on ground engineering, tunnelling, excavation support systems, foundations, slope stability, and underground infrastructure.
• Ensure the successful delivery of projects to agreed quality, programme, and budget requirements.
• Support bid preparation, technical proposals, and project mobilisation activities.

People Leadership & Capability Development

• Provide technical mentoring and coaching to engineer
