Database Administration & Architecture Robust hands-on administration experience across SQL (Microsoft SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB or equivalent) environments. Managing the end-to-end database lifecycle: installation, configuration, security hardening, architecture, and maintenance. Owning database architecture design decisions and recommending improvements to data structures for scale and performance. Applying patches, version upgrades, and maintenance updates with minimal disruption to live services. Documenting database configurations, standards, runbooks, and procedures for cross-environment consistency.
Production Optimization & Troubleshooting
• Deep, hands-on experience troubleshooting and optimizing distributed database clusters under live production load.
• Continuous database performance optimization: query tuning, indexing strategies, and resource allocation at production scale.
• Leading root-cause analysis (RCA) on high-impact production incidents and implementing preventative, permanent fixes.
• Proactively identifying and mitigating scalability,



availability, and reliability bottlenecks before they affect production.
Security, Backup & Disaster Recovery
• Understanding database security best practices, including encryption at rest/in transit and strict access control.
• Administering user roles, access, and permissions in compliance with enterprise security and regulatory standards.
• Managing enterprise database backup, restore, and Disaster Recovery (DR) frameworks to eliminate data loss risks.
• Monitoring cluster health, storage capacity, and resource utilization, including long-term
capacity planning.
Automation, Scripting & Infrastructure
• Proficient in scripting for the automation of routine DBA workflows using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Hands-on experience with production backup/recovery tools and database monitoring/alerting platforms.
• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments supporting production
