Role Description This is a full-time SDS/2 Steel Detailing Modeler role based in Coimbatore. The role involves creating accurate 3D steel models in SDS/2 for structural and miscellaneous steel, including beams, columns, connections, stairs, ladders, and handrails. The Modeler will interpret architectural and structural drawings, coordinate with detailers and checkers, and prepare shop and erection drawings in line with project specifications and international standards. Daily responsibilities include model updating, clash detection, revision management, and ensuring compliance with client requirements and fabrication practices. The role also requires effective communication with project teams, following internal quality processes, and meeting project schedules and delivery milestones.
Qualifications
• Proficiency in SDS/2 modeling and related steel detailing software, with strong ability to create and modify 3D structural and miscellaneous steel models.
• Solid understanding of structural steel design and detailing concepts, including connections,



fabrication practices, and erection methods.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings, and translate them into accurate models and detailed drawings.
• Familiarity with international standards and codes such as AISC, CISC, BS, IS, and OSHA, and ability to apply them in day-to-day project work.
• Strong attention to detail, quality-focused approach, and commitment to meeting project deadlines and delivery schedules.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with checkers, detailers, engineers, and client teams in a hybrid work workplace.
• Relevant diploma or degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, or a related field; prior experience in steel detailing/modeling is highly beneficial.
• Willingness to learn, adapt to different project requirements and regions, and contribute to continuous improvement
