About the Role

As a Football Coach, you will serve as a key instructional leader on the athletic coaching staff. Joining our Athletics Department, you will work closely with the Head Football Coach, fellow Assistant/Position Coaches, Athletic Trainers, and Strength & Conditioning Specialists to support the execution of the football program's overall strategy.

In this role, you will focus on developing player technique, executing game-plan strategies,



and fostering a disciplined, positive team culture. You will be directly involved in daily practice preparation, position group instruction, on-field coaching, and supporting student-athletes in both their athletic and personal growth.

What You'll Do

- Position Instruction & Skill Building: Plan and lead daily drill work focused on fundamental skills, position-specific techniques, and assignments for your designated unit (e.g., offense, defense, special teams, or specific position group).
- Game Preparation & Scouting: Analyze game film of team performances and upcoming opponents, contribute to weekly game plans, and assist in creating practice scripts and scout team cards.
- On-Field Coaching & Execution: Assist with sideline communication, game-day adjustments, positional rotation, and practice drill execution during high-tempo sessions.
- Player Mentorship & Academic Tracking: Serve as a mentor to student-athletes, monitoring player progress, practice attendance, and maintaining academic accountability.
- Administrative Support: Assist with equipment distribution, field preparation, facility management, and travel logistics for away games as directed by the Head Coach.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce proper tackling and safety protocols to minimize injury risk, maintaining strict adherence to league rules and departmental standards.

Qualifications

- Experience: 2+ years of football coaching or competitive playing experience at the high school, collegiate, or club level.
- Football Acumen: Strong understanding of fundamental football techniques, positional strategy, schemes, and basic film breakdown software (e.g., Hudl).
- Communication & Mentorship: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to instruct, motivate, and constructively critique student-athletes.
- Organizational Skills: High level of reliability, punctuality, and detail orientation for practice setup, drill planning, and logistical tasks.
- Certifications: First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications required. Bachelor's degree or coaching certification preferred.
