Ph.D. student University of Melbourne and Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur One fully funded project on “NIST standardization and beyond: Solving practical problems for seamless transition to post-quantum cryptography” is available under the Melbourne-India Postgraduate Academy (MIPA).

This Joint PhD project offers flexibility to explore a wide range of challenges in Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) to facilitate its deployment in real-world systems.

We welcome candidates interested in any aspect of PQC, including but not limited to: Design and cryptanalysis of novel post-quantum schemes Optimized algorithms for software and hardware implementations Integration of PQC into existing cryptographic protocols and network infrastructures Practical security evaluations against physical attacks (side-channel analysis, fault injection, and microarchitectural attacks)



The project aims to solve practical deployment bottlenecks and develop foundational mechanisms for future PQC deployments.

The candidate will have the freedom to steer the research focus toward their specific strengths within the broad area of PQC landscape.

The candidate will be primarily based at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, and is expected to spend up to 2 years at the University of Melbourne.

The successful candidate will receive the degree from both of the institutes.
