Role Description The Pastry Commis will support the pastry team in the daily preparation and production of desserts, baked goods, and other sweet items for hotel outlets and events. Responsibilities include measuring and mixing ingredients, assisting with baking, decorating pastries, and ensuring consistent product quality under the guidance of senior chefs.



The role involves maintaining a clean and organized work station, following hygiene and safety standards, and properly storing ingredients and finished products. The Pastry Commis will also assist with inventory checks, mise en place, and coordination during service periods. This is a full-time, on-site role based at The Shalimar Hotel in Mumbai.
Qualifications
• Strong foundation in Food Preparation and Cooking, with developing Culinary Skills in pastry and bakery items.
• Valuable understanding of hygiene, food safety standards, and kitchen sanitation practices.
• Effective Communication skills for collaborating with chefs and kitchen team members.
• Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and ingredient handling.
• Relevant culinary certification or diploma in bakery/pastry arts is preferred.
• Previous experience as a pastry commis or trainee in a hotel or bakery environment is an advantage.
