Your Impact
• Develop and maintain short-, medium- and long-term mine plans for open-pit and underground mining
operations.
• Prepare mine designs, including pit layouts, haul roads, ramps, waste dumps, stockpiles and
underground development layouts using Deswik.
• Generate production schedules and mining sequences that support operational planning and mining
study requirements.
• Contribute to mine optimization, option assessments, trade-off studies and life-of-mine planning.
• Support mining inventory, production forecasting, material movement and equipment planning
activities.
• Coordinate with geology, geotechnical, mine water and infrastructure disciplines to develop integrated
and practical mine plans.
• Prepare clear technical reports, presentations, calculations and engineering documentation for internal
and client review.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continued development of the GCC Mine Planning
capability.
Responsibilities
• Create, update and review mine designs using Deswik.CAD and related Deswik modules.
• Develop strategic, tactical and operational mine plans aligned with project objectives and available
technical inputs.
• Prepare mining sequences, pushback designs, development layouts, extraction strategies and
production schedules.
• Build and maintain schedules using Deswik Scheduler, including activities, dependencies, resources
and production targets.
• Analyze mining rates, material movements, equipment productivity, operational constraints and
schedule performance.
• Evaluate alternative mine development and production scenarios and communicate the technical
implications.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs and confirm that planning assumptions, constraints and interfaces
are appropriately incorporated.
• Support project planning, technical reviews, quality assurance, proposals, estimates and delivery
against agreed scope, schedule and budget.
• Contribute to standardized workflows, templates, automation and continuous improvement in mine
planning delivery.
Capability Development and Collaboration
• Support the growth of the Deswik-based Mine Planning capability within GCC India.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and task-level review for graduate and junior mining engineers.
• Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions, technical training and lessons-learned activities.
• Work effectively with geographically distributed project teams and communicate progress,
dependencies and risks clearly.
• Escalate technical, quality, schedule or resourcing concerns to the Mine Engineer - Team Leader and
relevant project leadership.
Qualifications
The Skills That Set You Apart
• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in mine planning, mine design and/or production scheduling.
• Strong experience in open-pit and/or underground mining operations or consulting assignments.
• Demonstrated capability in strategic, tactical and operational mine planning.
• Advanced working knowledge of Deswik for mine design and scheduling.
• Understanding of mine development, extraction sequencing,
material movement, equipment
productivity and operational constraints.
• Ability to interpret geological, geotechnical, hydrogeological, environmental and infrastructure inputs
for mine planning.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
Preferred Experience
• Experience supporting international mining projects and integrated global delivery teams.
• Experience contributing to scoping, prefeasibility and feasibility studies, operational planning or
technical due diligence.
• Knowledge of mine economics, scenario evaluation, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience reviewing technical work and mentoring junior team members.
