About the Role
The Alumni Relations Department is looking for an Officer – Communication to work closely with the Director – Alumni Relations on all communications programmes and initiatives aimed at strengthening the Somaiya alumni identity. This is an prospect to help shape the communications function of the department from an early stage.

Key Responsibilities
• Support brand identity promotion for the Alumni Relations Department.
• Develop and manage communications for alumni activities and events.
• Create and manage newsletters and forums for the alumni community.
• Manage social media communications, including the use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Canva and D-iD.
• Handle other communications directed at external and internal publics.
• Develop and continuously monitor the Alumni website/webpage/portal, including uploading alumni data.
• Plan and execute effective communications strategy across channels.
• Target different alumni segments appropriately when disseminating information.




• Create communications content to support various department applications and initiatives.
• Collaborate with external partners and vendors, and coordinate effectively with internal teams.

Candidate Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communication, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
• Linguistic proficiency in Hindi and English; proficiency in Gujarati and/or Marathi preferred.
• Minimum 6–8 years of experience in outreach through communications, social media management, or digital marketing.
• Ability to create promotional content; audio/visual design skills will be a distinct plus.
• Experience in brand identity promotion and managing communications for events and activities.
• Robust content creation skills, including copywriting, visual content design, and knowledge of SEO.
• Experience developing and managing newsletters, forums, fundraising communications, and other channels for targeting and positioning diverse audiences.
