Senior Accountant

Job Overview

The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining general ledger integrity, preparing complex financial reports, managing month-end and year-end closing processes, and supporting internal and external audits. This role also mentors staff accountants and acts as a bridge between the finance team and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Closing: Manage and execute the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
General Ledger & Accounts: Maintain and review general ledger accounts, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow tracking.
Compliance & Audits: Ensure financial records follow GAAP, IFRS, or local statutory standards, and prepare documentation for internal and external auditors.
Taxation & Statutory Filings: Support or manage tax filings (such as GST, TDS, corporate tax, or sales tax depending on region).
Budgeting & Analysis:



Assist in financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support management decisions.
Team Guidance: Review the work of staff accountants, provide training, and mentor junior team members.

Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (B.Com / M.Com).
Certifications: Preferred credentials include CPA, CA, CMA, or ACCA.
Experience: 5 to 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial models).
Experience with ERP and accounting software: Tally Prime (Latest Version)
Core Competencies: Solid analytical mindset, high attention to detail, time management, and transparent communication skills.
