The Opportunity
Are you a creative, energetic visual storyteller looking to kick-start your career? Join Decathlon Sports India for an intensive, Graduation Project as a Graphic Design & Video Editing Intern. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your eye for design and passion for dynamic video content in a fast-paced, real-world retail and digital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Visual Creation: Assist in creating compelling, visually appealing designs - including social media graphics, digital banners, basic layouts, and simple illustrations that align with Decathlon's sporty aesthetic.
Video Production & Editing: Edit and assemble raw footage into engaging short-form video content ensuring optimal pacing, transitions, and audio synchronization.
AI Exploration & Integration: Utilize and experiment with Generative AI tools (such as Adobe Firefly, Gemini etc) to assist in brainstorming, mockups, asset generation, and streamlining both design and video editing workflows.
Brand Guardianship: Learn and apply Decathlon's brand guidelines to maintain consistent visual identity and messaging across all static and video platforms.
Asset Management: Support the design team with day-to-day operational tasks such as resizing images, adapting formats for various platforms, basic photo retouching, and organizing digital assets.
Creative Brainstorming: Actively observe the creative process, participate in design critiques,
and confidently contribute fresh ideas during team brainstorming sessions.
Project Execution: Manage your time effectively to meet project deadlines while working on both small-scale independent projects and collaborative campaigns under the guidance of senior creatives.
Profile
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Pursuing or recently completed a degree/certification in Graphic Design, Video Production, Visual Communication, Multimedia, or a related field.
Technical Tools: Solid foundational knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite - specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro (knowledge of After Effects or other motion graphics tools is a strong plus).
Design Fundamentals: A strong grasp of design principles, color theory, typography, layout, and video storytelling/pacing.
Digital Native: Up-to-date with current social media trends, video formats, and what captures audience attention in the digital space.
Soft Skills: A creative mindset, willingness to adapt, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the wider team.
Portfolio/Showreel: A portfolio or video showreel showcasing previous design projects, coursework, video edits, or personal creative projects is highly preferred.
Case study
Task Overview:
Choose one iconic sports product (e.g., a Quechua hiking backpack, a Kiprun running shoe, or an Artengo tennis racket). Create a cohesive mini-launch kit introducing this product as a "New Arrival" for the upcoming season.
Part 1:
AI-Assisted Graphic Design & Asset Adaptation
- The Challenge: Find a standard, white-background studio shot of your chosen sports product online. Use AI tools (like Adobe Firefly, Gemini etc) to place this product into a realistic, dynamic outdoor workplace.
- Deliverable: Design a "New Arrival" promotional graphic using this new AI-generated image. You must deliver it in three different aspect ratios:
- Instagram Post and Story: 1080 x 1080 (1:1), 1080 x 1920 (9:16)
- Website Hero Banner: 1920 x 1080 (16:9)
- Requirements:
- Ensure the Decathlon blue aesthetic is maintained. (HEX: #3643BA)
- Include a strong headline, price placeholder (e.g., ₹999), and a "Shop Now" CTA.
- The AI background must look realistic and properly blended with the product.
Part 2: Trend-Driven Product Teaser (Video Editing)
- The Challenge: Create a fast-paced, high-energy 10-to-15-second "hype" reel for the same product.
- Deliverable: 1 vertical video (9:16, MP4).
- Requirements:
- Audio-Visual Sync: Edit strictly to the beat of an upbeat, trending, or energetic audio track.
- Typography: Use bold, kinetic text overlays to highlight 3 key features of the product (e.g., "Lightweight," "Waterproof," "Durable").
- Footage: Mix product images with open-source stock lifestyle footage of people doing that specific sport.
Part 3: The "How I Did It" Breakdown
- Deliverable: A brief text explanation covering:
- Exactly which AI tools you used for the product background generation/retouching and what prompts worked best.
- The mood or vibe you were trying to achieve with your video edit and audio choice.
