The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring HSE requirements during shutdown activities. The role involves ensuring safe execution of maintenance, erection, dismantling, hot work, work at height, confined space, lifting, electrical and other high-risk activities in compliance with company and client safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with all HSE rules, procedures, statutory requirements, and client safety standards throughout the shutdown project.
- Conduct daily site inspections and safety walkdowns to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards.
- Monitor safety during shutdown and maintenance activities, including work at height, scaffolding, lifting & rigging, hot work, confined space, electrical work, excavation, and heavy equipment operations.
- Ensure proper implementation of Permit to Work (PTW) systems, including Hot Work, Cold Work, Confined Space, Work at Height, Electrical Isolation, and other relevant permits.
- Verify that workers are using the required PPE and that safety equipment is available, inspected, and properly maintained.
- Conduct Toolbox Talks, safety briefings, induction training, and awareness sessions for workers, supervisors, and contractors.
- Monitor LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), isolation, de-isolation, and energy-control procedures before commencement of maintenance activities.
- Inspect and monitor scaffolding, ladders, lifting tools, cranes,



rigging equipment, temporary electrical arrangements, and other critical safety systems.
- Maintain daily HSE reports, inspection checklists, PTW records, toolbox talk records, incident/near-miss reports, and corrective action reports.
- Immediately report and take appropriate action against unsafe work practices or critical safety violations, including stopping work where there is an imminent risk.
- Assist in incident, near-miss, and accident investigations, including root-cause analysis and preparation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Coordinate with client representatives, contractors, supervisors, and project management to ensure effective implementation of the site HSE plan.
- Monitor housekeeping, waste management, access/egress, emergency routes, fire protection, and general site conditions during the shutdown.
- Participate in emergency drills and preparedness activities and ensure workers are aware of emergency response procedures.
- Ensure timely closure of safety observations, NCRs, audit findings, and corrective actions.

Shutdown-Specific Experience Preferred

Candidates with experience in plant shutdown, turnaround, annual maintenance, overhaul, erection, or major maintenance activities will be preferred.

Pay: ₹38,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
