SECTION I: BASIC INFORMATIONJob Function: QA / QCRole: Engineer / Manager - Quality Control - Site (Structural Steel)Job Family: Quality ControlSECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY (Purpose of the Role)The Engineer / Manager - Quality Control - Site (Structural Steel) is responsible for executing quality assurance and control activities at the site, ensuring all fabrication and erection works comply with project specifications, codes, and standards. The role involves regular inspections, coordination with the execution team, maintaining QA/QC documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental norms.SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIESConduct regular inspections and tests in office materials and construction activities to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.Review and implement project-specific Quality Control Plans (QCP), Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and Method Statements for all civil activities.Monitor and verify the calibration status of testing equipment and ensure all equipment used complies with relevant standards.Record and report non-conformities or deviations from design and specification, initiate corrective/preventive actions,



and ensure timely closure.Coordinate with subcontractors and site engineers to ensure quality requirements are understood and adhered to during execution.SECTION IV: KEY INTERACTIONSInternal StakeholdersSite Execution Engineers: For quality alignment, inspections, and resolving technical non-conformities during execution.Planning & Project Control Team: For updating quality milestones, material testing statuses, and schedule integration.External StakeholdersClients / Client Representatives: For material approvals, quality inspections, and joint handovers.Subcontractors: For supervising compliance with site-specific testing protocols and quality standards.SECTION V: KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCEKNOWLEDGEMinimum Qualifications: ITI / Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or institute.Language Skills: Proficiency in English and Hindi (oral and written); knowledge of regional language is a plus.EXPERIENCEYears of Experience: 3 - 20 yearsNature of Experience: Experience in structural steel QA QC in industrial construction projects with a focus on implementing and monitoring quality control procedures and site-related testing protocols.SECTION VI: TECHNICAL & LEADERSHIP / BEHAVIORAL SKILLS REQUIRED TO EXECUTE THE ROLETechnical SkillsKnowledge of IS codes, ASTM standards, and other relevant construction normsProficiency in civil material testing procedures and interpretation of resultsCalibration & VerificationEngineering KnowledgeIncident InvestigationInterpretation of Technical DrawingsMaterial TestingQuality AuditingQuality Management System (QMS) ImplementationRisk ManagementTechnical InspectionLeadership / Behavioral SkillsStrong observation and analytical skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracy
