Job Summary
Job Description - Tools- HWA L2 HCL Workload Automation (HWA 10.1+), IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS), Dynamic Workload Console (DWC), conman CLI, Hero & Clara Automation Assistants, Linux/Unix & Windows Server Environments, Enterprise Batch Scheduling, Disaster Recovery (DR) & Cluster Setup
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities: • Workload Scheduling & Operations: Manage and maintain end-to-end enterprise batch scheduling activities using both the Dynamic Workload Console (DWC) and command-line interfaces (conman). • Environment Maintenance & Health: Oversee HWA 10.1+ administration across Master Domain Manager (MDM) and Domain Manager (DM) architectures, ensuring continuous operational health. • Dependency & Bottleneck Resolution: Resolve complex scheduling dependencies, manage operational schedule changes, and collaborate directly with application engineering teams to optimize batch windows. • Plan & Agent Management: Oversee the JnextPlan generation and extension processes; diagnose and troubleshoot Fault-Tolerant Agent (FTA) unlink and communication issues. • DR & High Availability: Support Disaster Recovery (DR) setup, high-availability failover execution, and cluster environment maintenance across Windows and Unix/Linux platforms. • Project Execution & AI Assistance: Leverage automation tools (Hero and Clara) to automate routine scheduling tasks, optimize batch workloads, and lead technical HWA enhancement projects independently. 1.2 Must have Skills: Technical: • Batch Scheduling Expertise: 8 years of enterprise batch scheduling experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to HCL Workload Automation (HWA 10.1+) or IBM TWS. • Architecture & Command Line:
Deep hands-on proficiency with MDM/DM architecture, conman CLI commands, standard job definitions (docommand, scripts, variable tables), and basic database query execution. • OS & System Administration: Solid foundation in Linux/Unix and Windows Server operating systems, shell scripting, and cluster environments. • Plan Execution & Troubleshooting: In-depth understanding of the JnextPlan build cycle, FTA unlink resolution, and DR failover procedures. Non-Technical • High adaptability and readiness to work within a 24x7 rotational shift model. • Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and incident-resolution capabilities. • Proven ability to operate independently on tool upgrades, integrations, and operational projects.
Skill Requirements
1.3 Valuable to Have Skills: • Hands-on experience integrating HWA with AI-driven operation assistants like Hero and Clara. • Practical exposure to enterprise IT Operations Management (ITOM) tools and automated event monitoring. • Knowledge of cross-platform job dependencies spanning mainframe or enterprise ERP environments. 1.4 Soft Skills: • Exceptional collaborative skills for effective coordination across application, database, and infrastructure teams. • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills. • High attention to detail with a focus on preserving high system availability and zero batch delay.
Other Requirements
HCL Workload Automation Certification or IBM Certified System Administrator - Workload Automation (Highly Preferred), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, or ITIL v4 Foundation (Good to Have), • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
