Production Engineer – HVAC Manufacturing

1. Job Purpose

To supervise and coordinate day-to-day production activities for the manufacturing of Air Handling Units (AHUs), Air Control Products, Air Distribution Products and other HVAC sheet-metal products, ensuring production is completed as per approved drawings, quality requirements, production schedules and delivery commitments.

The Production Engineer will be responsible for effective shop-floor execution, manpower utilization, production planning, process control, quality and productivity improvement.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Production Execution

- Execute daily production plans as assigned by the Production Manager / Factory Head.
- Monitor production activities from raw material cutting through fabrication, assembly and final completion.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within the planned time.
- Allocate work to operators, fabricators, welders, fitters and helpers.
- Monitor work progress and identify production delays and bottlenecks.
- Ensure proper sequencing of jobs to achieve smooth production flow.
- Maintain proper WIP control on the shop floor.

B. Sheet Metal Manufacturing

Supervise and coordinate processes including:

- Sheet cutting / shearing
- CNC Laser / Plasma cutting
- CNC Punching
- Press Brake / CNC bending
- Rolling and forming
- Welding and fabrication
- Grinding and finishing
- Riveting and fastening
- Assembly
- Insulation-related activities
- Powder coating / surface finishing coordination

Ensure that all activities are carried out according to approved drawings and manufacturing requirements.

C. HVAC Product Manufacturing





Work closely with the Design and Production teams for manufacturing of:

- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- HVAC equipment enclosures
- Air Control Products
- Air Distribution Products
- Dampers
- Louvers
- Grilles and diffusers
- Ducting and sheet-metal components
- Other customized HVAC sheet-metal products

Ensure that dimensions, materials, construction details and assembly requirements are followed correctly.

D. Drawing & Production Coordination

- Read and understand engineering drawings, fabrication drawings and BOMs.
- Clarify drawing-related issues with the Design / Engineering team before production.
- Ensure operators work with the latest approved drawings.
- Coordinate with Design Engineering for design changes and modifications.
- Ensure proper identification and traceability of components.

E. Manpower Management

- Allocate manpower according to production priorities.
- Monitor attendance, productivity and utilization of shop-floor personnel.
- Guide operators and technicians on correct manufacturing methods.
- Identify skill gaps and recommend training requirements.
- Maintain discipline and proper housekeeping within the production area.

F. Quality Control

- Ensure production is carried out according to specified quality standards.
- Conduct in-process checks at critical manufacturing stages.
- Check dimensions and workmanship of fabricated components.
- Coordinate with Quality Control for inspections.
- Minimize rejection, rework and material wastage.




- Identify root causes of recurring production and quality problems and implement corrective actions.

G. Material Control

- Verify availability of required raw materials before starting production.
- Coordinate with Stores for material issue and replenishment.
- Monitor material consumption and wastage.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of sheets, profiles, insulation materials and other production items.
- Monitor and control scrap generation.

H. Machine & Tool Utilization

- Ensure proper utilization of CNC machines, bending machines, shearing machines, welding machines and other equipment.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for machine breakdowns.
- Report machine abnormalities and downtime.
- Ensure operators follow proper machine operating procedures.
- Maintain basic production-machine utilization records.

3. Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering or equivalent.
- Additional qualification in Manufacturing / Production Management will be an advantage.

4. Experience

- 8–10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing / sheet-metal fabrication / HVAC equipment manufacturing.
- Experience in AHU, Air Control Products, Air Distribution Products or sheet-metal fabrication will be preferred.
- Candidates with hands-on shop-floor production experience will be given preference.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹48,000.00 per month
