Application Engineer - Industrial Automation Products Job in Kolkata, West Bengal

Lubi Electronics is looking for a technically proficient and proactive Application Engineer - Industrial Automation Products for our Kolkata branch. This position is responsible for system engineering, software programming, parameter configuration, proof-of-concept testing, and on-site commissioning across our industrial automation portfolio, including PLCs, AC Drives (VFDs), HMIs, and Servo/Motion Control systems.

The role involves close technical collaboration with regional sales engineers, OEMs, panel builders, and end customers to deliver tailored automation architectures and resolve complex field applications.

Eligibility & Education Criteria

- B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation & Control (IC), Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
- 2–5 years of practical application engineering and commissioning experience in industrial automation.
- Strong hands-on programming capability with major PLC, HMI, VFD, and Servo brands (Delta, Siemens, Schneider, Mitsubishi, or equivalent).
- Willingness to travel across West Bengal and neighboring Eastern industrial clusters for trials, demonstrations, and site commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

- Programming & Logic Development: Develop, write, and debug PLC ladder logic, structured text, HMI screens, and basic SCADA graphics for custom machine applications.
- Drive & Motion Configuration: Configure, tune,



and commission AC Drives (VFDs), Servo Drives, and motion controllers for precision speed, torque, and positioning control.
- Pre-Sales Technical Consulting: Partner with the regional sales team to analyze customer machine specifications, recommend optimum automation architectures, and validate Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Proof of Concept (PoC) & Trials: Conduct feasibility studies, laboratory bench testing, and on-site application trials to demonstrate product capability to prospective OEMs and machine builders.
- On-Site Commissioning Support: Perform site commissioning, system integration, I/O checks, communication setup (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, CANopen, Profinet), and operational handovers.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve field-level software bugs, hardware interlocks, communication faults, and operational bottlenecks.
- Customer Training & Documentation: Prepare technical application notes, wiring guides, parameter backup files, and deliver technical product training to channel partners and customer engineers.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Hands-on programming and commissioning experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and Servo systems.
- Familiarity with industrial fieldbus networks: RS-485/Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, Profinet, EtherCAT, or CANopen.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control circuit diagrams, and panel wiring layouts.
- Strong problem-solving capability, structured root-cause analysis, and cross-functional coordination.
- Good communication and presentation skills for technical discussions with machine designers and plant engineers.
