Remote Legal Researcher

Position: Remote Legal Researcher
Location: Remote
Initial Engagement: Volunteer basis for 2 months
Potential Paid Role: INR 15,000 – INR 18,000 per month, based on performance and long-term fit
Working Hours: EST hours

We are currently looking to engage a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Researcher to join our team on a remote basis. The initial engagement will be on a volunteer basis for a period of 2 months, with the potential to transition into a paid position ranging from INR 15,000 to INR 18,000 per month, depending on performance, skills, and long-term suitability for the role.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will primarily assist with legal research and related legal support work, including:

- Conducting legal research relating primarily to Canadian laws and legal procedures;
- Researching statutes, regulations, case law, court decisions, and other legal authorities;
- Preparing research notes, summaries, and legal research memoranda;
- Assisting with legal drafting, including letters, applications, submissions, and other legal documents;
- Reviewing and organizing legal documents and supporting materials;
- Conducting online research using reliable legal and government sources;
- Assisting with case preparation and maintaining organized electronic files;
- Summarizing relevant case law and identifying applicable legal principles; and
- Performing other legal research and administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

We are seeking candidates who:

- Have strong English communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Have strong legal research and analytical skills;
- Have an interest in or basic understanding of Canadian law and legal procedures;




- Have knowledge of basic legal drafting and document preparation;
- Are comfortable using Microsoft Word, PDF tools, email, Google Drive, and general computer applications;
- Are detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently;
- Can meet deadlines and communicate effectively while working remotely; and
- Have prior legal education, legal research experience, or relevant work experience. Experience with Canadian law will be considered an asset.

Working Arrangement

This is a fully remote position. The candidate must be available to work during EST (Eastern Standard Time) hours and have a reliable laptop and stable internet connection.

The initial 2-month period will be on a volunteer basis. Subject to performance and long-term fit, the candidate may be considered for a paid position with compensation of INR 15,000–INR 18,000 per month.
