The Office of Barath Kumar, Advocate, invites applications for the position of Junior Advocate to support active litigation practice in Chennai. This role is suited for newly enrolled advocates and early-career professionals seeking substantial exposure to court procedures, drafting, and case handling.

The selected candidate will assist in matters relating to civil, criminal matters, writ petitions, consumer disputes, property laws, Negotiable Instruments Act cases, and various registration-related works. The role involves end-to-end support in litigation, including drafting, filing, and ensuring cases are properly processed, numbered, and posted before the appropriate courts.

Key Responsibilities

- Draft pleadings, affidavits, petitions, legal notices, and other supporting documents
- Assist in filing procedures, scrutiny, and follow-up to ensure cases are numbered and listed before court
- Handle day-to-day court work, including appearances for procedural matters, case tracking, and coordination with court staff
- Conduct legal research, analyze judgments, and apply relevant case laws to ongoing matters
- Support in client coordination, preparation of briefs, and maintaining proper documentation
- Assist in registration-related legal processes and documentation
- Ensure timely compliance with court requirements and office workflows





Candidate Requirements

- Enrolled Advocate (Bar Council registration mandatory)
- Basic knowledge of civil law, criminal law, writ jurisdiction, NI Act, and consumer matters
- Strong interest in litigation and court practice
- Good drafting, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a disciplined and deadline-driven workplace
- Willingness to learn through intensive practical exposure
