About the role
Alanar is the Investment Manager of Alanar One Health Fund, a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund investing across pharmaceutical engineering, healthcare, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and allied infrastructure businesses.
We are looking for a CA who wants substantial responsibility early in their career and is interested in developing beyond a conventional accounting role.
The candidate will take responsibility for the accounting and finance of the Investment Manager while supporting the finance and operations of the Fund. This is a hands-on role in a small investment team, with regular interaction with the Fund Manager and exposure to how an Alternative Investment Fund operates in practice.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the books of accounts and manage day-to-day accounting, payments and reconciliations.
- Manage taxation, statutory payments and related compliance requirements.
- Monitor cash flows, expenditure and financial commitments and prepare relevant MIS and management information.
- Manage periodic closing, financial statements, audit requirements and coordination with auditors, tax advisers and bankers.
- Maintain appropriate financial controls, documentation and accounting processes.
- Review Fund accounting, NAV workings, capital accounts,
expenses and investor-related financial information maintained by external service providers.
- Coordinate Fund operations including capital calls, distributions, investor onboarding and reporting.
- Coordinate with the Fund Administrator, RTA, Trustee, auditors, legal counsel, bankers, depositories and other service providers.
- Support regulatory, statutory, contractual and transaction-related requirements.
- Support investment closings and other Fund transactions.
Who we are looking for
- Qualified Chartered Accountant.
- Strong accounting and financial fundamentals.
- Sound numerical and analytical ability.
- Solid working knowledge of Excel.
- Willingness to work hands-on with books of accounts and Tally.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to learn quickly and work through unfamiliar matters.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Good judgment, reliability and professional integrity.
- Strong ownership and ambition.
Prior experience in an AIF, private equity, venture capital or investment-management environment is not required.
The opportunity
The role offers direct exposure to the financial and operational workings of an Alternative Investment Fund and direct learning under the Fund Manager.
As the candidate demonstrates capability and ownership, the role can progressively expand into fund control, transaction support, portfolio-company finance, financial analysis and broader finance responsibilities.
For someone who wants to understand how businesses, investments and financial decisions work beyond the accounting function, this role offers significant responsibility and a strong learning curve.
Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Paid time off
Work Location: In person
