- To welcome patient with attendant in the collection room, identify the patient by the name and UHID number, match patient request with the test required before sample collection.

- Monitor compliance of patients with preparatory steps required for particular tests.

- Give necessary instructions, if required, for sample collection.

- Check consent form is filled by the patient or not wherever it is necessary like in cases of HIV/FNAC.

- Ensure that the patient is in a comfortable position before sample collection.

- Draw blood samples of OPD/IPD patients in appropriate collecting tubes with required quantity and label them properly with the patient name and barcode number.

- Ensure proper labelling to indicate “Urgent” status of samples.

- To manage the Transportation of the sample with requisition form to respective section.





- Participate in all quality management and patient safety activities within department.

- Look after the overall housekeeping of the sample collection area.

- Follows standard precautions at all times

- Performs all aspects of patient care in an workplace that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

- Maintain inventory and adequacy of supplies required for sample collection.

- To perform and execute any order received from the higher authorities.
