If you hear a budget speech and want to know where the money actually went, we want you. At Way2News, you’ll turn complex policies into clear Telugu explainer videos that answer what families need to know. Who qualifies? Where did the money go? What changes for them? Every 90-120 second explainer you do is backed by verified sources.

What you'll do

Your job is simple! Take one policy question from the source document to a finished Telugu video, and get it right. One day you might trace a welfare scheme from the budget line to the beneficiary's bank account. The next, you explain why a state's debt matters to a farmer. Later that week, you review a junior colleague's script and send it back with the number they missed.

1. Find the story: track budgets, government orders, scheme announcements, audit reports, and assembly sessions for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and the Union government

2. Follow the money: read the budget documents and compare what was promised with what was spent

3. Explain it: write short video scripts in plain Telugu that answer what changed, who it affects, and what it costs

4. Present it: deliver your scripts on camera, with support from our video team

5. Prove it: trace every number to a primary document and file a source list with every script

6. Stay fair: explain the trade-offs and the strongest case on each side, without a party line

7. Grow the desk: review Junior Associate Editors' scripts and help plan the desk's calendar

You're probably a fit if

1. You have spent real time on policy, in research, government, the social sector, or civil services preparation, and want that knowledge to reach people

2. You read the budget document itself, and you know where to find it

3.

Relatives and neighbours already ask you whether they qualify for a scheme

4. You can take a story from a source document to a finished script without being told each step

5. You can explain both sides of a policy fairly, including the side you disagree with

6. You can tell a colleague their script is wrong and show them why

What you need

1. Telugu: fluent spoken and written Telugu. This is essential, wherever you studied

2. A regular, full-time degree: a master's is preferred, from a college anywhere in India

3. Preferred degrees: Political Science, Public Administration, Economics, Public Policy, or Development Studies

4. Also considered: Law, Rural Development, and Sociology

5. Experience: two or more years of work, research, or civil services preparation in the field

6. English reading: enough to read policy documents

You don't need a journalism degree, newsroom experience, camera experience, or a social media following. You don't need an unbroken career either: if you studied this field, stepped away, and want to restart, we want to hear from you.

This role is not for you if

1. You are not from Political Science, Public Administration, Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, Law, Rural Development, or Sociology

2. You have a political loyalty you can't set aside on camera

3. You would rather give opinions than check documents

4. You want to plan stories and hand off the work.

You research, write, and present your own

5. You don't want to appear on camera

6. You need a fixed playbook. The desk is new, and we are building its methods as we go

What success looks like

1. A viewer finishes your video and knows whether the scheme applies to them

2. People look forward to your next explainer

3. People forward it to family because it answered a real question

4. Every number holds up when someone checks it

5. The juniors you review get better month by month

6. Telugu viewers come to this desk when a budget or a current scheme is announced

What you get

1. Training from day one: a structured first month in scripting, camera delivery, and source verification

2. Editorial cover: a senior editor signs off on your early scripts and on sensitive stories

3. Tools: in-house research and scripting tools that carry part of the load

4. A desk to build: you are among its first editors, so you help set its formats and standards

5. A clear path: Associate Editors move to Editor on accuracy, consistency, and the ability to edit others, typically within 6-12 months

How to apply: Send three things to [email protected]

1. A short note on what you studied or worked on, and why you want this desk

2. A 90-120 second Telugu video explaining one scheme or one budget item: what it is, who pays for it, and who benefits (phone recording is fine)

3. Your sources for the video

Shortlisted applicants do a paid one-month trial with real topics and deadlines before any offer.

Pay: ₹350,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year

Benefits:

- Food provided
- Health insurance
- Life insurance
- Provident Fund

Work Location: In person
