We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage project quantities, measurements, billing, BOQs, material reconciliation and cost control activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs from structural, architectural and other relevant drawings.
- Prepare and review BOQs (Bill of Quantities) for civil and RCC works.
- Measure executed quantities at site and verify contractor/subcontractor measurements.
- Prepare, check and certify contractor/subcontractor RA bills based on actual site progress.
- Verify quantities against approved drawings, BOQ items, work orders and site measurements.
- Prepare quantity calculations for RCC, reinforcement steel, shuttering/formwork, masonry, plastering and other civil works.
- Maintain detailed measurement sheets and supporting documentation.
- Monitor project quantities against BOQ and identify variations or deviations.
- Prepare variation statements and quantify additional/deleted works.
- Assist in rate analysis and preparation of estimates for additional works.
- Carry out material reconciliation for cement, steel, concrete and other construction materials.
- Monitor material consumption against theoretical quantities and investigate excessive wastage.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Managers, contractors, consultants and accounts teams regarding measurements and billing.
- Review contractor claims and supporting documents before submission for approval.
- Maintain records of work orders, amendments, measurements, bills and payment certifications.
- Assist in project cost monitoring and identify potential cost overruns.
- Prepare regular quantity and cost reports for management.
- Support procurement and project teams with quantity requirements and material forecasts.
- Ensure that all measurements and billing are in accordance with contract terms, approved drawings and project specifications.
- Maintain proper documentation for audit and commercial purposes.
- Visit project sites regularly to verify actual execution and quantities.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying / Construction Management.
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, billing or commercial functions within the construction industry.
- Strong experience in RCC and building construction.
- Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of quantity take-offs and measurement procedures.
- Experience in preparing and checking BOQs,
RA Bills and measurement sheets.
- Knowledge of material reconciliation, rate analysis and variation statements.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or quantity surveying software will be an advantage.
- Valuable numerical, analytical and documentation skills.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
