Job Overview
Chapter Green Compliance Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Energy / Mechanical Engineer to support our growing energy engineering, building assessment, and regulatory consulting projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, technical writing, research, and problem-solving skills, with an interest in building energy performance, energy efficiency, sustainability, mechanical systems, and building regulations.
The position will be responsible for supporting energy audits, building assessments, energy-saving calculations, technical report preparation, and research on energy codes, standards, regulations, and energy-efficiency programs across the United States. The candidate will work closely with project engineers and senior engineering staff to develop high-quality technical deliverables and practical recommendations for building owners and property managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ASHRAE Level II Energy Audit and Energy Assessment reports.
- Perform building energy consumption analysis and calculate potential energy savings from proposed Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs).
- Develop energy-saving, utility-cost savings, simple payback, ROI, and other financial calculations for proposed energy-efficiency improvements.
- Prepare Property Condition Assessment (PCA) and building assessment reports.
- Review HVAC, lighting, domestic hot water, building envelope, electrical systems, and other major building systems.
- Analyze utility bills, energy consumption data, equipment information, operating conditions, and building documentation.
- Develop and evaluate energy conservation measures and provide recommendations to improve building energy performance and reduce operating costs.
- Research federal, state, and local energy laws, building energy codes, benchmarking requirements, building performance standards, and energy-efficiency programs across the United States.
- Track changes to energy regulations and summarize their potential impact on building owners, property managers, and commercial and multifamily properties.
- Research energy regulations, compliance requirements, codes, standards, and incentive programs in different states and jurisdictions.
- Conduct technical research using government websites, energy codes, utility program documentation,
engineering publications, and other reliable sources.
- Collect, organize, and analyze information from utility bills, building documentation, equipment schedules, site inspection reports, drawings, photographs, and field data.
- Prepare professional technical reports, calculations, spreadsheets, tables, charts, recommendations, and executive summaries for clients.
- Assist in developing energy models, savings estimates, ECM cost estimates, and project-level financial analyses when required.
- Review field inspection information and coordinate with project engineers to incorporate findings into technical reports.
- Assist with research and development of new energy-efficiency services, building performance solutions, and consulting opportunities.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and organize technical information in accordance with company procedures.
- Coordinate with project engineers and senior engineers to review technical findings, calculations, recommendations, and final reports.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining project schedules, accuracy, and quality standards.
- Communicate technical findings clearly and professionally to internal teams and, when appropriate, clients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Building Science, or a related engineering or technical field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and analyze utility and building performance data.
- Ability to research technical regulations, codes, standards, and government requirements independently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies in technical information.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical,
architectural, and building-related documentation.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a technical consulting environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with energy audits, building energy assessments, sustainability consulting, or engineering consulting.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and energy auditing methodologies.
- Familiarity with building energy codes such as ASHRAE 90.1 and IECC.
- Experience preparing Property Condition Assessment (PCA) or facility assessment reports.
- Experience with utility bill analysis and energy benchmarking platforms.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, controls, domestic hot water systems, lighting systems, and building envelope systems.
- Experience with energy modeling or building simulation software is a plus.
- EIT, PE, CEM, CBCP, CEA, LEED, or other relevant professional credentials are a plus.
- Experience researching energy regulations, building codes, utility programs, and energy incentives across multiple U.S. states is a plus.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹63,000.00 per month
