Position Summary

The Director of Finance – c3India serves as the financial and operational finance lead for c3controls’ manufacturing expansion in India. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance (US HQ), this executive oversees all plant cost accounting, statutory compliance, tax, and local reporting functions. A key strategic partner to operational leadership, the Director will establish robust internal controls, enforce fiscal discipline under Indian regulatory frameworks, and ensure seamless financial alignment between c3India and US headquarters. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical accounting acumen in Indian tax laws and GAAP with strong strategic planning skills to partner with executive leadership across global business units.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership & Global Alignment

- Oversee all financial management, accounting operations, budgeting, and long-term financial planning for c3India.
- Serve as the primary finance partner to the US leadership team, communicating regional performance, risk assessments, and growth metrics to the VP of Finance.
- Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual budget-to-actual variance analyses, cost control measures, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking.
- Implement and align financial strategy, internal reporting standards, and transfer pricing guidelines between c3India and US entities (c3controls, c3digitus, Evolute).

Plant Cost Accounting & Operations

- Partner on Standard Costing & Variance Analysis: Establish accurate standard product costs and deliver weekly, actionable variance insights (material usage, labor efficiency, scrap, overhead absorption) to plant leadership to eliminate waste and optimize throughput.
- Drive Gross Margin & Cost Reduction Initiatives: Direct plant-level profitability analysis and collaborate with plant managers and continuous improvement teams to identify, validate, and track cost-saving opportunities and Lean/Kaizen operational goals.
- Lead Plant Budgeting, Forecasting & Capacity Planning: Own the site-level annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes, translating production schedules, volume shifts, and unit economics into clear operational financial models.
- Safeguard Inventory Integrity & Controls: Oversee inventory valuation, perpetual-to-physical inventory reconciliations, cycle counting programs, and internal controls to minimize shrinkage, write-offs, and inventory obsolescence.




- Build Financial Models for CapEx & Automation: Partner with operational engineering to develop rigorous ROI and pay-back models for plant equipment investments, automation projects, and facility capacity expansion decisions.

Financial Reporting & General Ledger Management

- Direct the accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes in accordance with Indian GAAP and company standards.
- Ensure strict control over general ledger accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, bank accounts, and intra-group/cross-border transactions.
- Consolidate regional financial management information systems (MIS) for executive review.

Statutory Compliance, Taxation & Auditing

- Ensure 100% compliance with local statutory laws, including Indian Income Tax (TDS/TCS), Goods and Services Tax (GST), Corporate Tax, Companies Act, and township/local regulations.
- Direct and manage external statutory audits, tax audits, internal audits, and interactions with appointed Chartered Accountants, consultants, and tax authorities.
- Oversee GST return filings, GST refund applications, and transfer pricing documentation.

Treasury, Cash Flow & Financial Operations

- Manage liquidity, cash flow forecasting, working capital, and local banking relationships in Mumbai.
- Supervise the local finance and accounts team, providing oversight for Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), expense management, and local payroll processing.
- Implement, streamline, and enforce internal controls, accounting workflows, and financial policies to eliminate risk and maximize efficiency.

Team Leadership & Development

- Lead, mentor, and build the c3India finance team, promoting professional development and functional expertise across team members.
- Foster robust cross-functional collaboration with c3India Engineering, Operations, and Human Resources teams.

Qualifications & Required Experience

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration required. Chartered Accountant (CA),



ICWA/CMA credential or Master’s degree in Finance (MBA/M.Com) strongly preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Director, Controller, or Senior Finance Manager) in an MNC or manufacturing entity. We require hands-on experience inside an industrial or electronics manufacturing facility.
- Accounting & Software Proficiency: High proficiency in ERP accounting systems, Tally, and US/global software tools (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Compliance Mastery: In-depth, hands-on knowledge of Indian GST laws, Income Tax (TDS), Transfer Pricing, Corporate Governance, and Indian GAAP/Ind AS.
- Cross-Border Expertise: Experience working with US-headquartered parent companies, multi-currency transactions, and reporting across time zones.
- Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Financial Management: Led plant-level and standard cost accounting operations for high-volume manufacturing environments; designed variance analysis frameworks (labor, yield, and overhead) that improved gross margins and optimized inventory valuation.

- Adaptability: Comfortable coordinating across global teams (Mumbai and US) via video conferencing and collaborative tools.

Work Environment & Travel

- Work Location: On-site at the c3India office facility in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
- Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with flexibility required to accommodate occasional cross-time-zone meetings with the US team.
- Travel: Occasional local or international travel as required by executive leadership.
