Job Summary

Responsible for providing professional and courteous food and beverage service to hospital patients. Ensures that meals are delivered accurately, hygienically, and on time according to patients’ dietary requirements and hospital standards. Maintains a high level of cleanliness, patient comfort, and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver meals, beverages, and snacks to patients according to the prescribed diet and meal schedule.
- Verify patient name, room/bed number, and dietary instructions before serving meals.
- Follow special dietary requirements, including therapeutic and restricted diets as instructed by the hospital.
- Serve food politely and assist patients with meal setup when required.
- Communicate professionally with patients, nurses, dietitians, kitchen staff, and other hospital departments.
- Collect used trays, crockery, cutlery, and other service items after meals.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of food service equipment, trays, trolleys, and service areas.
- Follow hospital food safety, hygiene, infection-control, and sanitation procedures.
- Report patients’ food-related complaints, allergies, dietary concerns, or service issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Ensure proper handling, storage,



and transportation of food according to food safety standards.
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow hospital uniform and grooming standards.
- Provide friendly, respectful, and compassionate service to patients and their attendants.
- Support the food service team during meal preparation, distribution, and cleaning activities.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Food Service Supervisor or Hospital Management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Diploma or certificate in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Food & Beverage Service, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in hotel, hospital, catering, or food service operations is an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation.
- Ability to understand and follow patient dietary instructions.
- Positive teamwork, patience, and a service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physically fit and able to stand/walk for extended periods.
