The Manager on Duty / Floor Manager is responsible for the smooth day-to-day functioning of the hospital floor, coordinating between departments, staff, patients, and management. The role involves monitoring hospital operations, addressing patient and staff concerns, maintaining service standards, and ensuring that any operational issues are promptly escalated and resolved.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and monitor the overall functioning of assigned hospital floors during the duty shift.
- Coordinate with Nursing, Reception, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Housekeeping, Security, Billing, and other departments.
- Ensure proper patient flow, timely services, and smooth coordination between departments.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, discipline, grooming, and workplace conduct.
- Conduct regular floor rounds and identify operational issues or deficiencies.
- Attend to patient and bystander complaints and ensure appropriate resolution.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals whenever required.
- Monitor cleanliness, housekeeping standards, infection-control practices, and general floor conditions.
- Ensure that rooms, patient areas, waiting areas, and common facilities are maintained properly.
- Monitor availability of essential supplies and report shortages to the concerned department.
- Handle emergency operational situations and coordinate with relevant departments.
- Maintain proper communication between management and frontline staff.
- Record and report incidents, complaints, maintenance issues,



and other key observations.
- Follow up on pending issues until they are resolved.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SOPs, safety procedures, and service standards.
- Assist management in implementing new procedures and operational improvements.
- Prepare or submit shift-wise reports and daily operational updates to management.
- Ensure proper handover of important issues to the next Manager on Duty / concerned department.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in hospital administration / floor management / operations preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle patients, bystanders, and staff professionally.
- Good knowledge of hospital operations and coordination.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Basic computer and reporting skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
