Job Description – AutoCAD Draftsman/Draftswoman

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsman/Draftswoman to prepare accurate technical drawings, layouts, and design documentation using AutoCAD.

The ideal candidate should be technically proficient, detail-oriented, organized, and capable of interpreting engineering concepts, sketches, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Drawing Preparation

- Prepare accurate 2D drawings and layouts using AutoCAD.
- Develop plans, elevations, sections, details, and fabrication drawings.
- Convert sketches, concepts, and specifications into detailed technical drawings.
- Prepare drawings according to project requirements and company standards.
- Ensure all drawings are explicit, accurate, and properly dimensioned.

2. Drawing Modification & Revision

- Modify existing drawings based on design changes and project requirements.
- Incorporate revisions and maintain proper revision control.
- Update drawings according to comments from engineers, designers, clients, or management.
- Maintain accurate records of approved and revised drawings.
- Ensure outdated drawings are properly identified and removed from circulation.

3. Design Coordination

- Coordinate with engineers, designers, production, fabrication, site teams, and management.
- Clarify technical details and drawing requirements when necessary.
- Assist in resolving drawing-related issues during production, fabrication, or installation.
- Ensure drawings are suitable for manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or execution.
- Participate in design review meetings when required.

4. Documentation & File Management

- Maintain organized digital and physical records of drawings.
- Follow proper file naming, numbering, and folder management procedures.
- Prepare drawing registers, revision logs, and transmittal documents.




- Maintain backups of project drawings and related documents.
- Ensure drawings are issued to the concerned departments on time.

5. Measurement & Detailing

- Add accurate dimensions, tolerances, notes, symbols, and material specifications.
- Prepare bills of materials or assist in preparing material lists when required.
- Verify measurements and drawing details before submission.
- Ensure proper scale, line types, layers, and drawing standards are followed.
- Check drawings for errors, omissions, and inconsistencies.

6. Site & Production Support

- Review site measurements and update drawings accordingly.
- Assist production and fabrication teams with technical drawing clarifications.
- Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site or production conditions.
- Visit project sites when required for measurements, inspections, or coordination.
- Support installation and execution teams with updated drawings.

7. Quality Control

- Check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with specifications.
- Ensure drawings follow company, client, and industry standards.
- Conduct self-checks before submitting drawings for approval.
- Identify and correct drafting errors promptly.
- Maintain consistency across all drawings and project documents.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- ITI / Diploma / Graduate in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience as an AutoCAD Draftsman/Draftswoman preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of dimensions, scales, tolerances,



symbols, and drafting standards.
- Good understanding of technical drawing principles.
- Ability to prepare accurate and detailed drawings.
- Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with AutoCAD 3D, SolidWorks, Revit, SketchUp, or other design software.
- Experience in mechanical, structural, architectural, fabrication, or manufacturing drawings.
- Knowledge of sheet metal, piping, machinery, structural components, or fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with MS Office and Excel.
- Knowledge of drawing standards, GD&T;, and engineering documentation.
- Experience preparing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, or as-built drawings.
- Ability to take site measurements and convert them into accurate drawings.

Salary

Up to ₹22000 per month, depending on experience, AutoCAD proficiency, technical knowledge, software skills, and overall suitability for the role.

Pay: Up to ₹22,000.00 per month
