Hiring: Head of Accounts & Finance – Group Operations- Team Lead

About the Role

IDAS Global India is seeking a qualified CA with strong leadership and team management skills to head the Accounts & Finance function for a group of approximately 15 companies operating across Construction, Solar, Fuel Distribution and related businesses in Botswana and Southern Africa.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role requiring complete ownership of financial operations, internal controls, compliance and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage the complete Accounts & Finance function across approximately 15 group companies.

* Supervise, mentor and lead a team of 7+ finance professionals.

* Oversee daily reconciliations across approximately 50 bank accounts.

* Manage AR, AP, customer collections and supplier payments.

* Prepare and review daily financial reports, monthly MIS and management accounts.

* Monitor cash flow, treasury, bank balances and foreign exchange transactions.

* Oversee VAT, taxation and statutory compliance under applicable Botswana regulations.

* Manage payroll for approximately 70 employees.

* Supervise intercompany transactions and reconciliations.

* Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.

* Establish robust financial controls, approval processes and risk management practices.

* Coordinate with auditors, banks,



tax advisers and other stakeholders.

* Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.

* Drive team accountability, operational efficiency and timely deliverables.

Candidate Profile

* Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.

* 5–10 years of relevant Accounts & Finance experience.

* Strong leadership, team management and decision-making skills.

* Proven ability to independently lead a finance department.

* Experience handling multiple companies or group-level accounts.

* Solid knowledge of accounting, MIS, taxation, VAT, treasury, cash flow and financial controls.

* Excellent Excel and accounting/ERP skills.

* Ability to manage deadlines, improve processes and take ownership of financial operations.

* Botswana or African business experience will be an added advantage.

* Willingness to work approximately 9 months in Mohali and 3 months in Botswana.
