TGT English Teacher – Job Description

Position: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) – English Board: CBSE Department: English Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate and qualified TGT English Teacher to teach English to middle and secondary school students. The candidate should have strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create an engaging, student-centred learning environment aligned with the CBSE curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach English to students in Classes VI–X as per the CBSE curriculum.
- Prepare and deliver well-structured, engaging lesson plans.
- Develop students' skills in grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking, and literature.
- Use innovative teaching methodologies and appropriate digital resources.
- Prepare worksheets, assignments, question papers, and other assessment materials.
- Conduct regular assessments and maintain accurate student records.
- Provide constructive feedback and support students who require additional academic assistance.
- Encourage students to participate in debates, elocution, creative writing, literary activities, and other co-curricular programmes.
- Maintain classroom discipline and foster a positive and inclusive learning setting.




- Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress and areas for improvement.
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, training programmes, and other institutional activities.
- Follow CBSE academic guidelines and school policies.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's/Master's Degree in English from a recognised university.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teacher-training qualification.
- Relevant teaching experience in a CBSE school is preferred.
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
- Good classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with CBSE assessment patterns and teaching practices.
