We are currently hiring for Head – Employee Benefits & Administration with a leading MNC based out of Bangalore.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Head – Employee Benefits & Administration to lead the organization's employee benefits, HR administration, and workplace services. The role will be responsible for designing and managing employee benefit programs, ensuring operational excellence in HR administration, driving employee experience initiatives, and ensuring compliance with applicable statutory and organizational policies.
The ideal candidate should have robust experience in employee benefits, insurance/medical benefits, HR operations, vendor management, policy design, and employee administration, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Employee Benefits
- Lead the design, implementation and administration of comprehensive employee benefits programs.
- Manage Group Medical Insurance (GMC), Group Personal Accident (GPA), Group Term Life Insurance (GTL) and other employee insurance programs.
- Review benefit structures periodically to ensure competitiveness and cost effectiveness.
- Partner with insurance brokers, insurers, TPAs and other benefit providers.
- Drive annual renewal negotiations, benchmarking, claims analysis and benefit enhancements.
- Monitor employee utilization, claims trends and benefit costs.
- Develop communication initiatives to improve employee awareness and utilization of benefits.
2. HR Administration
- Lead end-to-end HR administration and employee lifecycle processes.
- Oversee employee documentation, HR records, letters, confirmations, transfers and exits.
- Establish and improve HR policies, processes and SOPs.
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of employee data and HR documentation.
- Drive process automation and digitization of HR administration.
3. Employee Experience
- Develop initiatives to improve the overall employee experience.
- Own employee engagement initiatives related to benefits, wellness and workplace support.
- Conduct employee feedback surveys and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure timely resolution of employee queries and escalations related to benefits and HR administration.
- Build employee-friendly processes and communication frameworks.
4. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with insurance companies, brokers, TPAs, HR service providers and other external vendors.
- Negotiate commercial terms, SLAs and service agreements.
- Monitor vendor performance against agreed SLAs and KPIs.
- Work closely with Finance, Payroll, HRBPs, Legal and Business teams.
5. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, statutory requirements and internal HR policies.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and records for audits.
- Establish strong governance mechanisms around employee benefits and HR administration.
- Partner with Legal and Compliance teams on policy interpretation and regulatory matters.
6. Cost & Budget Management
- Own the annual budget for employee benefits and HR administration.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising employee experience.
- Track benefit costs, utilization and financial impact.
- Prepare periodic MIS and management dashboards for senior leadership.
7. Team Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop the Employee Benefits & HR Administration team.
- Define team objectives, KPIs and service standards.
- Build a high-performing, service-oriented HR operations team.
- Drive continuous improvement and process standardization.
Candidate Profile
- 10–15+ years of overall experience in HR, with significant experience in Employee Benefits / HR Operations / HR Administration.
- Strong understanding of GMC, GPA, GTL and employee insurance programs.
- Experience managing insurance brokers, insurers and TPAs.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Experience in designing and implementing employee benefit policies and programs.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret claims, utilization and cost data.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience managing and developing HR teams.
- Strong understanding of HR policies, processes and statutory compliance.
- MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent qualification preferred.
