We operate in a collaborative Agile environment that encourages continuous learning, career development, and the pursuit of engineering excellence. **How You'll Help Us Connect the World:** As a Staff Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of Aurora Networks' Service Assurance software products by: + **Analyzing** business and technical requirements to design scalable backend solutions and evaluate technology tradeoffs. + **Solving** complex and ambiguous technical problems by defining requirements and driving effective solutions. + **Developing** robust, secure, and high-performance applications and services. + Maintaining and enhancing existing systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency. + **Partnering** with QA engineers on debugging, test planning, and issue resolution. + **Documenting** architecture, design decisions, implementation details, and root cause analyses. + **Collaborating** with cross-functional teams while sharing technical expertise, participating in design and code reviews, and promoting engineering best practices. **Required Qualifications for Consideration:** + Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills. + **6+ years of experience** developing commercial software products for **Linux-based distributed systems** . + Strong proficiency in **Java** and the **Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot,



Spring Framework, Spring Security)** for building scalable, enterprise-grade **backend services** . + Experience designing, developing, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning **distributed and microservices-based applications** . + Solid knowledge ofnetworking fundamentals and protocols, including **TCP/IP, SNMP, gRPC/gNMI, and socket programming** . + Working Experience with **relational and NoSQL databases** , including data modeling, query optimization, and data-access frameworks. + Experience withevent-driven architectures, including **Apache Kafka, Kafka Streams, and RabbitMQ** . + Familiar with **RESTful APIs** , and data serialization technologies includingJSON, XML, and Avro. + Experience withcontainerized applications using **Docker and Kubernetes** . + Familiarity withdevelopment and DevOps tools, including **Maven, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and test frameworks** . + Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. **You Will Excite Us If You Have:** + Experience with **telecommunications, broadband, cable (DOCSIS), fiber/PON, and network management systems.** + Understanding of **cloud-native architectures and familiar with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.** + Experience with **observability and monitoring technologies (Prometheus, Grafana).** + Experience with **Agile software development methodologies.** **Why Join Us?** Vistance Networks shapes the future of communications technology, pushing past what is possible.
