The Qualifications We Seek

Required Education and Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of experience in estimating, construction materials, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel

Preferred Education and Experience

- Associate degree in Construction Management, Drafting, or a related field
- More than 2 years of experience in countertop, stone, cabinetry, or related construction-material estimating
- Experience with digital templating equipment and/or CNC/DXF file handling

Additional Eligibility Requirements

- Ability to pass a criminal background check and other pre-employment screening requirements under Emapta's standard onboarding process

Knowledge

- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of natural and engineered stone products, including granite, quartz, and marble, as well as fabrication processes and installation methods
- Estimating Knowledge: Understanding of slab yield, seam placement, edge profiles, cutout requirements, material costs, and waste factors
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in Bluebeam or similar plan markup/takeoff software and SPS, NetSuite, or similar opportunity and quoting software

Your Daily Tasks

- Review and scale customer-provided construction plans in Bluebeam to confirm dimensions and project scope
- Create countertop-highlighted plans in Bluebeam to clearly define the quoted scope of work
- Prepare preliminary 2D countertop takeoff drawings that show proposed layouts, sinks, edge profiles, and other relevant project details
- Create corresponding opportunity quotes in SPS and, during the company's system transition, NetSuite
- Calculate square footage, slab yield, edge treatments, seam placement, cutouts, and waste factors
- Apply current material, fabrication, and labor costs to produce competitive, margin-appropriate pricing
- Review physical and digital templates, including CNC/DXF files, and job drawings for completeness and accuracy before estimate preparation
- Flag discrepancies or missing information to Sales or Templating before quote finalization
- Source and confirm slab availability, lot and pattern matching, and material pricing from approved vendors and yards within the assigned territory
- Generate clear, professional, and itemized proposals and estimates for internal sales teams, builders, designers, and direct customers




- Ensure accurate pricing and consistent presentation across proposals and estimates
- Partner with Sales to clarify project scope and customer expectations
- Coordinate with Templating and Fabrication to confirm project feasibility
- Coordinate with Installation to identify site conditions or access issues that may affect costs or schedules
- Maintain accurate pricing records, job files, and estimate revisions within estimating and opportunity-quoting systems
- Maintain current material and labor cost tables
- Reprice and document estimate revisions based on scope changes, field conditions, or customer-requested modifications
- Track estimate-to-close conversion, turnaround time, and variances between estimated and actual job costs
- Report pricing trends and concerns to management
- Monitor local material, labor, and competitor pricing trends across assigned markets to maintain competitive and accurate estimates
