As a Trades Assistant within our Workshop team, you'll provide essential support to tradespeople to help maintain Council's fleet, plant and workshop operations. Your work will include assisting with servicing and repairs, fabrication and installation activities, cleaning and preparing equipment, materials handling and providing support within the tyre bay and tool store functions.

This is a practical, hands-on role that requires a strong focus on safety, teamwork and customer service. You'll assist with sourcing and collecting parts and equipment, operate vehicles and plant, support workshop logistics and help ensure the workshop remains clean, organised and operating efficiently.

You're a reliable and safety-focused team player with experience working in an automotive, mechanical or workshop environment. You enjoy practical work, have a strong work ethic and take pride in delivering quality outcomes.



You're willing to jump in and help wherever needed, communicate effectively with a range of people and are committed to providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

You must also meet the following criteria:

- School Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Current experience assisting in an automotive or mechanical engineering workshop
- Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Confined Spaces Entry training, or willingness to undertake the training
- Forklift (LF) licence
- Current Class C driver's licence
