Purpose of the Role
The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality performance of suppliers manufacturing ferrous castings and machined components. The role involves development, qualification, monitoring, and continuous improvement of suppliers to ensure defect-free supplies, process compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Quality Management
• Manage quality performance of suppliers supplying ferrous castings, machined components, and related processes.
• Conduct supplier process audits and ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
• Monitor supplier quality KPIs such as PPM, rejection rates, warranty issues, and audit scores.
• Drive supplier improvement programs and ensure closure of identified gaps.
• Lead supplier APQP activities for current product development.
• Review and approve PPAP submissions including:
• Investigate supplier quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies:
• Drive containment, corrective and preventive actions.




• Verify implementation effectiveness through audits and process validation.
• Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes including Supplier Audits
• Prepare audit reports and follow-up action closure.
• Support customer complaint investigations related to supplier parts.
• Lead root cause analysis and closure activities.
• Prepare monthly supplier quality performance reports.
• Track supplier scorecards and improvement plans.
• Support sourcing team in supplier evaluation and approval decisions.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Metallurgy.
• Certification in Quality Management tools will be an added advantage.

Experience
• 5 to 10 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Quality Assurance.
• Minimum 3 years of experience handling ferrous casting suppliers and machining suppliers.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing is preferred.
