Role Description The PhD Candidate in Physics, specializing in Computational Materials Science, will engage in full-time research focused on modeling and simulation of materials using computational and theoretical methods. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, designing and running simulations, analyzing data, and interpreting results to advance understanding of materials properties and behavior.



The candidate will collaborate with supervisors and research groups, contribute to publications in peer-reviewed journals, present findings at conferences, and support grant proposals and project reports. Additional tasks include assisting with laboratory or departmental activities, mentoring junior students when needed, and participating in seminars and workshops. This is a full time, on-site role based at SRM University-AP in Vijayawada.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Physics, with a focus on Condensed Matter or Materials Science, and familiarity with quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, and solid-state physics.
• Experience in Computational Materials Science methods, such as density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics (MD), or Monte Carlo simulations.
• Proficiency in scientific programming and tools (e.g., Python, C/C++, MATLAB, Fortran, or similar), and experienc
