Role: Senior Mainframe Developer
Location: Bangalore

Required Skills & Experience
• 7 to 12 years of experience in Mainframe application development, technical leadership, solution design, or modernization.
• Strong hands-on expertise in:
• COBOL
• JCL
• DB2 for z/OS
• CICS
• VSAM
• Batch processing
• Mainframe utilities and production support concepts
• Proven experience leading large-scale Mainframe modernization or migration programs.
• Strong understanding of complex COBOL application architecture, including:
• Program dependencies
• Copybooks
• DB2 access
• CICS transactions
• Batch processing
• File processing
• MQ/interfaces
• Inter-program communication
• Scheduling and job dependencies
• Strong DB2 expertise, including SQL development, performance tuning, database design, stored procedures, and understanding of Mainframe DB2 integration patterns.




• Experience analyzing and decomposing large legacy applications and converting business logic into up-to-date application/service architectures.
• Experience with modernization patterns such as rehost, replatform, refactor, rearchitect, and rewrite.
• Experience working with distributed technologies such as Java/Spring Boot, Python, REST APIs, messaging, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of API and integration architecture and the interaction between Mainframe and distributed platforms.
• Ability to independently analyze complex technical problems and provide practical, implementable solutions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both technical teams and senior client stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in banking, financial services, insurance, healthcare, or other large enterprise environments.
• Experience working on modernization programs involving millions of lines of COBOL code.
• Experience with Mainframe DB2 modernizatio
