Job Title: Manager, Financial Accounting, Insurance
Global Finance Center (GFC) provides a variety of financial support services to business partners over the HSBC Group. As part of the financial control team, we are primarily responsible for all the month close activities that lead up to the preparation of the financial statements.
In this role, you will:
• Prepare and post monthly Journal / Month end reclassification entries, along with IFRS 17 knowledge
• Should be well versed with Financial statement closure procedures of Insurance business
• Prepare and present Financial statements including related variance analysis
• Need to handle big volume data / database : Should be good in Excel / MS Access
• Checking and monitoring the integrity of the ledger by clearing suspense and control accounts on a timely basis
• Account owner or reconciler for finance owned accounts / including substantiation
• Review Subsystems for accuracy and ensure reconciling items are researched in a timely manner.
• Requires strong excel and analytical skills




• Should be well versed with the key requirement of Risk & Control
• Responsible for reviewing the Inter and Intra company variances
• Assist the Manager in completing various period end close responsibilities
• Process work as requested by customer / line management.
• Maintain up to date documentation for all Journal processed and supporting activities.
• Prepare reports for the Customer/ Management / Group in accordance with set standards
• Acquire and update knowledge on IFRS / US GAAP
• Has robust technical understanding of accounting principles and demonstrated competence in their application;
• Ensure compliance with HSBC standards and Statutory requirements;
• Identify opportunities for process re-engineering / improvement and drive changes independently;
• Issues/Problems are investigated and resolved or escalated appropriately
• Achieve established Performance Level Agreements (PLA’s)
