Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Deputy Manager – Production to manage and drive production activities in an Automotive Plastic Component Manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Injection Moulding, Injection Moulding Machines, Moulds, Production Planning, Productivity Improvement, OEE, TPM, 5S, OPPC and Yield Improvement, along with good knowledge of ISO 9001 and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, manage and monitor day-to-day production activities to achieve production targets, quality standards and delivery schedules.
- Manage production operations for automotive plastic injection moulded components.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, moulds, materials and other resources.
- Monitor and improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), productivity and machine utilization.
- Drive yield improvement, rejection reduction and process improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and control production losses, downtime, scrap and material wastage.
- Ensure effective implementation of OPPC, 5S and TPM practices across the production area.
- Monitor machine breakdowns and coordinate with the Maintenance Team for preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Ensure proper mould maintenance, mould changeover and mould condition monitoring.




- Troubleshoot production-related issues associated with Injection Moulding Machines and moulds.
- Ensure machines are operated within defined process parameters and standards.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, PPC, Stores and Purchase departments for smooth production operations.
- Implement Kaizen, continuous improvement and productivity improvement activities.
- Analyze production data, identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 requirements, SOPs, work instructions and process standards.
- Maintain production records, reports, rejection reports, downtime reports and OEE-related data.
- Develop and monitor departmental KPIs related to Productivity, OEE, Yield, Rejection, Downtime and Delivery.
- Train, guide and motivate production supervisors and operators.
- Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping and company policies.
- Support new product development, process trials and mould trials as required.
- Participate in root cause analysis, CAPA and problem-solving activities.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of Injection Moulding Process

- Good understanding of Plastic Moulds and Mould Maintenance
- Knowledge of OPPC

- Good understanding of automotive plastic component manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of Kaizen / Continuous Improvement / Root Cause Analysis

Candidate Profile

- 8–10 years of relevant experience in Production, preferably in the Automotive Plastic Components Manufacturing Industry.
- B.E./B.Tech. in Plastic Engineering / Polymer Technology / Plastics Technology or equivalent.
- Strong exposure to Injection Moulding and automotive plastic components is preferred.
- Should have good leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Should be capable of managing production teams and achieving production targets.
- Candidates with experience in automotive OEM/Tier-1/Tier-2 plastic component manufacturing will be preferred.
