Role & responsibilities

- Handle day-to-day counter sales of commercial vehicle spare parts.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend the correct spare parts based on vehicle model and application.
- Identify spare parts using part numbers, catalogues, samples, or vehicle specifications.
- Provide accurate information on product availability, pricing, and alternatives.
- Prepare quotations, sales orders, invoices, and other required sales documents.
- Coordinate with the stores/warehouse team for availability and timely issue of spare parts.
- Maintain proper records of counter sales, customer enquiries, orders, and pending requirements.
- Follow up on customer enquiries and convert them into sales.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with mechanics, workshops, fleet owners, dealers, and other customers.
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues related to products, availability, pricing, and delivery.
- Coordinate with procurement/purchase teams for unavailable or special-order parts.
- Ensure proper billing and collection coordination wherever applicable.




- Maintain knowledge of new products, substitute parts, and market trends.
- Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to overall branch/store sales.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of the counter and product display area.

Preferred candidate profile

- 0-5 years of experience in counter sales or spare-parts sales, preferably in the commercial vehicle segment.
- Good knowledge of commercial vehicle spare parts and applications.
- Ability to identify parts through part numbers, catalogues, or vehicle models.
- Positive customer-handling and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of billing/inventory software or ERP systems.
- Good negotiation and sales skills.
- Ability to work effectively with stores, workshop, purchase, and sales teams.
- Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
- Good numerical and basic computer skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced counter-sales environment.
